U.S. Navy Information Warfare Research Program (IWRP) focuses on 5G communications

According to a report by the U.S. Government Contracts website on June 30, 2021, the U.S. Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) and the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) presented some of the content of IWRP at the “Information Warfare Research Program (IWRP)” Industry Day. .
The IWRP Industry Day presented briefings from various relevant departments of the U.S. Navy and held a conference call. IWRP’s technical briefs cover a variety of information warfare research technical focus area topics. Professionals expect these themes to be the basis for solicitations for future prototype projects. Topics include the following:
● “Advanced Analysis Algorithms and Simulation Prototypes”: It mainly develops corresponding algorithms, multi-domain analysis, modeling and simulation capabilities, supports dynamic exchange of information on relevant platforms, and provides visual data analysis functions.
● A “Pre-Tender Collaboration (PSC)” project – “Logistics IT Small Edge Server”: seeks small server solutions to meet various operational and space/weight/power requirements.
● Three “Technical Cooperation and Exchange (TCE)” projects:
5G NR UE-to-UE Out-of-Coverage tactical communication: Supports “device-to-device” communication of UE.
5G NR SA LPI/LPD and anti-jamming tactical communication system: Support low probability of intercept (LPI)/low probability of detection (LPD) and anti-jamming in 5G environment.
5G NR SA Portable Tactical System: A Security-Enhanced Network Solution for Portable SA Devices
