Recall of some domestic Model 3 electric vehicles produced between December 19, 2019 and June 7, 2021, totaling 211,256; some domestic Model Y electric vehicles produced between January 1, 2021 and June 7, 2021 , a total of 38,599 vehicles.

Due to the problem of the active cruise control system of the vehicles within the scope of this recall, it is easy for the driver to activate the active cruise function by mistake in the following situations: when the vehicle is in the D gear, the driver moves the right control lever again to try to switch gears; When making a sharp turn, when the driver accidentally touches and moves the right control lever, etc. After the active cruise control is activated by mistake, if the cruising speed set by the vehicle is not the current vehicle speed, and the current vehicle speed is lower than the set speed, the vehicle will accelerate to the set speed, and the vehicle speed will suddenly increase, which will affect the driver’s expectations. This can lead to misjudgment of vehicle handling, and in extreme cases, it may lead to vehicle collision, posing a safety hazard.

Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will upgrade the active cruise control software for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through the over-the-air update (OTA) technology, and users can complete the software upgrade without going to the store; For vehicles that cannot be recalled through the over-the-air (OTA) technology, Tesla Motors (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and Tesla (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. will contact the relevant users through the Tesla Service Center to upgrade the active cruise control for the vehicle free of charge.
