On the afternoon of the 20th, MediaTek officially released a new generation of flagship chip Dimensity 1200.

It is reported that the Dimensity 1200 is manufactured based on TSMC’s 6-nanometer advanced process. The CPU adopts a 1+3+4 flagship triple-cluster architecture design, including a Cortex-A78 super core with a main frequency of up to 3.0GHz, with a nine-core GPU and a six-core MediaTek APU 3 .0, and dual-channel UFS 3.1, the platform performance has been greatly improved.

Not only that, the Dimensity 1200 has maintained its continuous leadership in 5G, supporting independent and non-independent networking modes, 5G dual carrier aggregation, dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS), MediaTek 5G UltraSave power saving technology, and 5G SA/NSA dual-mode Dual-SIM 5G standby, dual-SIM VoNR voice service, etc.

More importantly, Dimensity 1200 is equipped with MediaTek’s independent AI processor APU 3.0, which can give full play to the advantages of mixed precision, flexibly use integer precision and floating point precision operations, and achieve higher AI application energy efficiency.

Combined with the AI ​​multi-task scheduling mechanism, through the high integration of AI technologies such as AI noise reduction, AI exposure, and AI object tracking, it brings users new photography experiences such as “rapid night shooting” and “super panoramic night shooting”.

Through the AI ​​multi-person real-time segmentation technology, mobile phone video shooting special effects such as background replacement and multi-passer removal can also be realized, bringing more excitement to the creation of 4K resolution videos.

In addition, Dimensity 1200 supports the leading chip-level single-frame progressive 4K HDR video technology. When users record 4K video, each frame is subjected to 3 exposure fusion processing, so that the video quality has excellent dynamic range. Contrast, detail and other aspects have been significantly improved.

Moreover, the Dimensity 1200 supports the use of AI technology to enhance the video quality, conducts deep learning on a large number of videos through artificial intelligence, and adjusts the video picture frame by frame from the director’s perspective, bringing a dynamic range close to HDR for SDR film sources. The advanced SDR to HDR technology allows mobile terminals to present more exciting video images.

It is worth noting that the Dimensity 1200 was first commercialized by Redmi.
