Establishing Perfect Communication: Century Star and Siemens S7-200 Ethernet
Century Star realizes Ethernet communication with S7-200 by connecting CP243-1 module, CP 243-1 is a communication processor designed to run in S7-200 automation system, it can connect S7-200 system into Industrial Ethernet (IE).
To realize the Ethernet communication between Century Star and S7-200, first complete the configuration of the CP243-1 module in the Ethernet Wizards (Ethernet Wizards) of the programming software Micro/WIN:
1. Fill in the CP243-1 Module Position, as shown in Figure 1:
Select the location of the module here. If you are online, you can also use the “Read Modules” button to search for the online CP243-1 module.
2. Fill in the CP243-1 module address (Module Position) and module communication type, as shown in Figure 2:
Fill in the module IP address (IP ADDREESS), the subnet mask (Subnet Mask) and the module connection type (Module Connection Type).
3. Set the output byte address and the number of connections occupied by CP243-1, as shown in Figure 3:
Set the output byte address occupied by CP243-1, which is determined by calculating the Q address bytes occupied by I/O in front of CP243-1. If CP243-1 is installed in slot 0 next to CPU226, its front output occupies two bytes QB0 and QB1. The addresses of CP243-1 are arranged in order, that is, set to QB2. The CP243-1 module occupies one QB output byte. It is recommended to use the default value for this item.
Select the number of connections If you only communicate with CenturyStar software, set the number of connections to 1.
4. Set the working mode and TSAP address of CP243-1, as shown in Figure 4:
Set TSAP address: TSAP (Transport Service Access Point) address is the communication connection address, which includes two parts: the first part: the communication connection number, such as 10; the second part: the CP243-1 module is installed in the rack/slot of the S7-200 No., such as “00” means that CP243-1 is installed in No. 0 slot of No. 0 rack (ie, the first module after CPU). The local TSAP address is automatically generated and cannot be modified. The remote TSAP address, that is, the address set by the connected remote computer.
After completing the Ethernet wizard configuration, you need to call the ETHx_CTRL block generated by the Ethernet wizard in the program, and after downloading the project program to the PLC, power off the PLC and then power it on again to make the configuration take effect.
After completing the Ethernet configuration of the S7-200, enter the Century Star software to set.
First enter the Century Star device installation wizard, as shown in Figure 5:
Select PLC -> Siemens (SIEMENS) -> S7-200 Ethernet (TCP/IP) -> TCP/IP, click “Next” to enter the device parameter configuration window, as shown in Figure 6:
In the dialog box shown in Figure 6, the device address and initialization word settings are the key items that affect the device communication.
The device address contains the TSAP address information shown in Figure 4. In Figure 4, the local TSAP address is 10:00 and the remote TSAP address is 10:11. In the device address of Century Star, four of these two addresses need to be The data (ie: 10, 00, 10, 11) is converted into 4 8-bit hexadecimal data, namely A0AB.
The initialization word contains the module IP address information and port number as shown in Figure 2. The setting format is “IP address: port number” (the colon is a half-width symbol), such as “192.168.1.119:102”. Since the default port number of the PLC is 102, if the port number is not modified, the port number information in the initialization word can be omitted, and it can be directly set to “192.168.1.119”, as shown in Figure 6.
After the setting is complete, you can click “Next” to complete the device addition operation.
