Dalian Daquanding Group launched a Type-C PD power docking station solution based on RICHTEK products

“In recent years, although the USB Type-C interface has become a major standard for smartphones due to its excellent transmission rate, most other electronics such as computers are still in the follow-up stage and have not been fully popularized. With the continuous improvement of the performance of the new USB Type-C interface, some of the latest laptops have been equipped with the Type-C interface, which has led to the problem of the incompatibility of the power charging interface. In order to solve this problem, the Type-C PD power docking station solution launched by Dalian Daquan Ding based on the RICHTEK RT6190 chip can meet the charging needs of Type-C PD power.

RT6190 is a 4-switch bidirectional Buck-Boost controller specially developed by RICHTEK for USB-PD applications. It can work in the input voltage range of 4.5V~36V, and the output voltage can be adjusted in 3V~36V. Its control structure is peak current mode, and the output power is up to 100W in programmable constant current and constant voltage mode. And the device has a built-in charge pump circuit, which can control the external low-cost N-type MOSFET switch to realize power path management. RT6190 has I2C interface, its output voltage, current limit value, operating frequency and cable voltage drop compensation parameters can be set. It also has a complete protective design, including input under-voltage lockout protection, over-voltage and under-voltage protection, cycle-by-cycle current limit, short-circuit protection and thermal protection.
